Development & Public Sector Economics
Dr. George Domfe is a Development Economist and a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Policy Studies (CSPS) at the College of Humanities, University of Ghana. He holds a PhD in Development Studies and MPhil and BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Ghana. His research focus is on special issues in vulnerability [child marriage & the economics of old age] and public sector economics.
He worked between 1998 and 2008 as a Principal Superintendent with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and between 2008 and 2010 as a Principal Research Assistant (PRA) with the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana. He was a lecturer of Economics at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). He has worked on several projects for organisations such as: Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Canada, World Bank, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), PAB Consult, and JMK Consult. He is a member of the Canadian Economics Association (CEA).
