National Assessment of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's Electoral Competitiveness Against Potential NDC Presidential Candidates Ahead of the 2028 General Elections

Executive Summary

This report presents the findings of a nationwide voter perception survey conducted to assess the electoral competitiveness of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), against the leading potential presidential candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2028 general elections. The study also examined the leadership qualities that Ghanaian voters consider most important in selecting the country's next President and explored the geographical distribution of electoral support across Ghana's sixteen regions. The survey was conducted from July 27 to August 7, 2026 using face-to-face interviews with 16,963 respondents drawn from all 276 constituencies in Ghana. The sample was designed to be nationally representative, providing a 99% confidence level with a margin of error of ±1%. As such, the findings provide a robust snapshot of voter preferences at the time the survey was undertaken.
